PDF Converter is slower in Windows XP with Explorer open

Post by LouHarris »

The PDF Converter runs slower when producing multiple PDF's to a folder in Windows XP when a Windows Explorer window is open. (not necessarily for the folder where the PDF files are being produced)

We have a function in our custom Visual FoxPro application that will produce a batch of reports, each as a separate PDF file to a folder specified by the user. If the user (in WinXP Pro or Home) has an explorer window open, the PDF's are produced significantly slower than of there are no explorer windows open.

Do you have any advice/suggestions besides "close Windows explorer windows" ?

Thanks in advance,

-Lou.

More information - specifics

Post by LouHarris »

I forgot to list the specifics of our version, etc.

PDF Converter version 2.10i ActiveX control
The PDF's are coming from native Visual FoxPro reports.

File names are similar to 99-99999F1.PDF, or 04-12345F1.PDF

Thanks again,

-Lou.

Hello,

We are not aware of any issues with the PDF Converter that would cause this type of behaviour. Can you elaborate on how timed the processing speed?

Thanks
