Hi
Overview
I’m using pdf converter ver. 2.08 to generate a pdf file when printing a report from Microsoft Business Solutions-Navision 3.70 (Navision). The reports are requested from and presented on a website.
In a system with win 2000 (sp1) or win XP Pro (sp1) as operation system, with Navision and the pdf converter installed I’m able to print reports from Navision in both portrait and landscape without problems.
Problem
When I try to print reports from Navision in landscape on a system with win 2000 (sp3) as operation system (the customers system), I get problems. A pdf file is created with then printed text in landscape, but the paper stays in portrait. The portrait reports work as they should.
Tested workarounds
I have tried to use the function SetOrientation to correct the paper orientation on the printer before calling the report that should be printed as a pdf file. It doesn’t work.
Installing a second printer with default paper orientation set to landscape is not an option. Setting the pdf converter to default printer in all the systems described above takes between 30 and 33 seconds (in all systems above). The reports are initiated from a website (that is hosted on the same system as the pdf converter and Navision), generated in Navision and then presented on the website. If I have to change the default printer, the website gets a timeout, because the change takes too long. Setting the original default printer takes less than half a second.
Questions:
1.
What causes the time consuming process of setting the pdf converter to default printer?
2.
Are there any known issues with the pdf converter installed on win 2000 with the various service packs installed?
3.
That will solve my problem with the wrong paper orientation, except upgrading the operating system (service packs not included). Using pdf converter ver. 2.10 is not an option – reason way is available else where on this site.
Kind regards
/Nyhus

Update: Operating system
It's on a win 200 server (sp3) that the converter fails.

Hi
This problem was sent to the support by e-mail monday.
What has been corrected in ver. 2.10 since it is no longer a problem for Navision developers. The last time we tryed using ver. 2.10 (app. 6 months back) it failed?

Hello,
We are currently providing a special activation code for Navision users, did you try to use version 2.10 with a special activation code that you received from our Support Department as a Navision developers or did you just try the activation code on our site?
If you mentioned in your request sent to support that you are a Navision developer and want to use version 2.10 i am sure they will send you a special demo activation code to do so.

Hi
We have the converter in ver. 2.10 and an activation code. I'm currently trying to get in contact with our developer responsible for the product in conjunction with Navision to hear in detail what the problem with ver. 2.10 is when used with activation code.
I’ll return when I have further information on the problems concerning ver. 2.10 with activation code and Navision.
