Amyuni PDF Converter with Print Job Locking Functions

Post by Georg Diczig »

Hi all,

we use the Amyuni PDF Converter 2.1 developer version.
Our application is developed with the Gupta Team Developer.

The PDF converter works fine with the SetDefault... functions but using the lock functions we get a printing error: "Error / Cannot open printer".
My problem is that i don't know exactly what this error message means and i don't know what exactly the lock function does.
Can you please explain me what exactly lock function does?

We have the problem of simultaneous access requesting on our WTS installations. The PDF Converter save the default settings on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Hardware Profiles\0001\Software\Amyuni PDF Converter
Is here any possibility to remap this information to HKEY_CURRENT_USER? That would solve our problem on a WTS platform.

Thanks in advance,
Georg Diczig

The PDF Converter will write all of the printer information to the same registry key (HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG) and this key is read and written to each the PDF Converter is accessed.

You can modify this functionality by using our “Per User Activation Code”. This code causes the PDF Converter to save the printer settings in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry as opposed to HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG.

In order to successfully use the per-user registry settings feature of the PDF Converter you will need special "Licensed to" and "Activation code" values.

If still have valid product maintenance/support, send an email to our support department and they will send you new activation codes.

Hope this helps?
