QuickBooks Premier 2006 Saving As & Sending PDF Files

Hello,
I've seen threads about how the PDF converter has some problems with certain versions of QuickBooks and printer drivers. I'm running Windows XP Pro with HP 7410 All-In-One printer installed. Ever since I upgraded QuickBooks 2006 from 2004 I haven't been able to save or email invoices as PDF files. I've noticed the PDF converter has been upgraded to 2.5 from 2.07 during this upgrade. Intuit is completely lost with no explanation aside from uninstalling the HP drivers and QuickBooks (with PDF convertiser drivers) and reinstall QB 2006. Which doesn't work.

After all this the PDF converter is still not working to save invoices as PDFs. QB either crashes or gives me an error message saying to retry, close and restart QB.

I also noticed that when I attempt to save or email an invoice as a PDF in QB the printer spooler app (spoolsv.exe) stops, starts, stops, then QB gives its error and then finally the spooler starts back up. I've tried stopping the spooler but there's no change in outcome.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hello,

Based on your comments, it looks like the version 2.50 of the PDF Converter being distributed with Quickbooks is not being correctly installed.

In order to verify this I suggest that you look in the Inuit or QuickBooks folder in "c:\Program Files" for a file called install.exe. This file will install the PDF Converter and also generate an install.log file which contains installation information.
Try executing the install.exe (double-clicking on it) and post the contents of the install.log

Hi Jose,
Thanks for your reply and your help. When i ran the install.exe file the log.txt file contained the following:

Windows 2000/XP/2003 Install
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amyuni Document Converter
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing printer driver
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing printer
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Printer setup succeeded
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Launch 'Install -u' to uninstall
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One thing i did notice was that now i have two new printer drivers. Amyuni Document Converter and Amyuni DPF Converter. What should i do with these? The original printer drivers were Intuit Internal Printer and QuickBooks PDF Converter.

Apologies, the log file is titled, "install.txt"

Rename the "Amyuni Document Converter " to "QuickBooks PDF Converter".

This should help.

Nope. I still get the same error message in QuickBooks, "QuickBooks could not save your form as a PDF file.
