I am using Family Tree Maker 2005 (FTM) and running Windows XP Home edition.
Since I installed the FTM program and began using it, I find that every time I open the FTM program there is a 8-10 second delay before the program can finish loading (during which a System Restore point is set) . The FTM program appears to be "installing" a printer driver every time---as the Restore Point states "Printer Driver Amyuni Document Converter 2.10 Installed." This happens multiple times every day as the program is opened and closed.
The same problem does NOT occur when I open and run QuickBooks.
Can anyone tell me why Amyuni creates a System Restore Point each time--and how to stop it?
THANKS!!

Hello,
We do not create a restore point, i beleive Windows does when installing a driver
When both QuicBooks and FTM are closed what PDF Printers do you have on your system?
I beleive you will have only the QuickBooks printer. The application developer can decide either to install the hprinter on the system each time his/her application is launched or to install the printer once and keep it on the system. It is advisable to keep the printer on the system.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply.
In addition to my two regular printers (an HP injet and a Brother laser) my printer folder also contains a fax printer and an Intuit Internal printer and a Microsoft Office Document Image Writer.
Those five printer icons show whether FTM or QuickBooks is open or closed. Same five when I open other software applications as well.
The restore point occurs only when I open up FTM.
