We are getting the following error in Event Viewer when trying to print programmatically or through Word on a Citrix box running Windows Server 2003:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MetaframeEvents
Event Category: Printer Management
Event ID: 1107
Date: 1/26/2006
Time: 11:21:32 AM
User: N/A
Computer: NYCDEVCITRIX01
Description:
Client printer auto-creation failed. The driver could not be installed. Possible reasons for the failure: The driver is not in the list of drivers on the server. The driver cannot be located. Driver mapping is incorrect. Client name: (ALEXSOFT2) Printer: (Client/ALEXSOFT2#/Amyuni PDF Converter) Client Printer driver: (Amyuni Document Converter 2.50) Server Printer driver: (Amyuni Document Converter 2.50)
I'm wondering if the driver was installed incorrectly. Do they have specific instructions for installing the driver on a Citrix box? Is it just double-clicking the install.exe file? Do you need to be logged in as administrator when you do this nowadays? We have the latest 2.50 version of Amyuni - Standard version.
Also, our client will need to purchase the professional version. We have the standard version which works great for our development environment. Would it be unadvisable to develop with the standard version (if calling the Amyuni API from the application we are working on) and install on a server with the professional version?

Hello,
In Citrix environment, it is advisable to install the printer on the server once using Install.exe. You shouldn't remove the printer when closing your application and install it when launching your application.
Yes administartive rights are needed to install any printer on Windows 2000, XP and 2003.
For your question about the Standard and Pro version, i didn't really get it.
Hope this helps.
