Hello. I am having a very frustrating problem with PrintShop and saving a file as a pdf. I have Windows XP and I have PrintShop Deluxe version 20, which comes with the Amyuni PDF Converter 2.10d.
My problem is when I save the project as a pdf its size is increased tremendously. For example the file I am currently attempting is only 2.51MB in the PrintShop file but once I save it to pdf it ends up being 25MB!!!
What am I doing wrong? I tried saving it in different dpi sizes, different letter sizes and I even tried reducing the fonts, the pictures sizes, you name it.
Now I spoke with a person who knows a bit about Adobe and this person told me I need to purchase the actual Adobe program which can run as much as $1,000 bucks.
I am not happy about that as the box claims that you can share your creations with friends and send projects to a print center via email but who the heck can send or even accept over 25MB!!!
I bought this program for that feature alone and I am at this point not too impressed.
Can anyone help me??

PDF converter & PrintShop..not happy
Hello Diana,
The version of the PDF Converter implemented in PrintShop is a special version that can be used only from inside PrintShop.
I can't know how printing from PrintShop is done and what are the printer settings that are set while printing.. For such issues in general we ask the users to get back to their application providers because they would be able to know how they implemented the driver in their appliation.
Here are some advices that could help.
1) using the PDF Converter you can select one of different compression algorithms available while printing your document, these compression algorithms will minimize the generate pdf file size, you need to select the algorithm that best suits your files. (You can check with PrintShop which compression algorithm they are using).
2) If you wish you can try to download our End User version of the PDF Converter (the current version is 2.50c) from our site: http://www.amyuni.com/en/products/pdf_c ... /demo.html
You can use this version to print your documents directly to the new printer while selecting Jpeg Compression + Downsample High resolution image + Remove duplicated images.
You can choose these options from the 'Image Compression' tab of the printer prefereces.
I am sure this will decrease the pdf file size considerably.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, I will try your suggestions.
As far as trying to get help from Broderbund the maker of PrintShop, I am SOL on that one. I have had nothing but trouble trying to even get a response.
Thanks for your ideas I will let you know how it goes once I figure it out. As you may have gathered I am not too good at this computer stuff. Seems to have complicated my life rather than made it easier.

Hello Diana,
It is normal that you get a demo watermark because the file you downlaoded is a demo version.
If you wish to remove the demo watermark and if you liked the version you downloaded from our site you need to license your own single user version of the driver. You will receive a special discount as you are currently a customer of Broderbund.
Please note that the version of the PDF Converter you have inside Broaderbun application can be used only from inside that application but the version you downloaded recently can be used from all Windows applications you have including Broderbund's.
Hope this helps.
