Problem: PDF documents containing layers

Part of my application is used to merge PDF documents into a single PDF. Both PDF documents produced by my application as well as external PDF's goes into the resulting PDF. Certain external PDF's started to fail during merge. It turned out that these external documents contained layers.

I created a new PDF from the layered PDF by printing from Acrobat Acrobat to Adobe PDF Writer. This removed the layers, and the document was able to merge.

Is layers indeed the problem?
Will PDF Converter be made able to handle PDF's with layers sometime in the future?

Hello,

The current version of our products don't support layers. This will be supported in our upcoming versions.
