Effects of SimPostscript

Post by jameslast »

Hello,

I found the option SimPostscript. But I want to make sure not to get any problems out of it.

What exactly does this option do? What are the effects of this option? Is there any side effect on the size, or the compatibility of the files, etc.

I hope someone can answer me on this.

Thank you!

Hello James,

SimPostScript() is mainly useful when printing documents containing Word arts and semi transparent images from some versions of Microsoft Office like Office XP.

Some applications do not work properly when this option is activated. These applications mainly include graphical editing
applications such as Adobe Photoshop® or Corel Draw®. The Postscript Simulation option can be disactivated for these
applications by modifying the "PSDisabled" registry entry using the SetPrinterParamStr method. For more information please check example on page 40 of the PDF Converter Developer Manual "Common Driver Interface 300.pdf"

You need to call SetDefaultConfig() after calling SimPostScript for the new settings to take effect

Hope this helps.
