Hi,
We have downloaded Amyuni evaluation version for integrating with one of our product.
Our product is written in ASP.NET 2.0 (Web application). Can I use Amyuni in web applications?
I tried to use it but while I call enablePrinter method the application hangs.
Is it possible to use Amyuni PDF Converter 3.0 with ASP.NET Web Application
Thanks in advance
Use Amyuni PDF Converter 3.0 with ASP.NET Web Application
Hello
The Amyuni PDF Converter can be used in a web environment. We have sample written in ASP.NET and VB.NET that demostrates how to use in such an enviroment. http://www.amyuni.com/en/support/technotes.html
1) You will have to modify some security settings to allow for the saving/retrieval of files and the starting up of applications on the webserver. In the Microsoft .Net environment, the ASP.NET user is the user that will be granted these permissions.
You will need to give ASP.NET user the permission to launch and access Word or Excel COM objects using the “dcomcnfg†tool. You will also need to allow ASP.NET user to read, write and modify Files on the application’s directory.
Hope that helps?
David
2) Also, the developer license of the PDF Converter does not allow the developer to install or use the PDF Converter as a general printer driver or part of a Word macro. If you wish to have this type of functionality you will need to acquire a special server license for each application that you develop and for that, I suggest that you contact our sales department (sales@amyuni.com) directly.
