Converter 2.50d to 2.50f upgrade problem

Post by ross_wells »

I have posted this question previously, but no response. :(

Updating from 2.50d to 2.50f and performing a PDFMerge. The resulting PDF has corruptions in some fonts. The same source documents merge correctly under 2.50d and the source PDF files display correctly before the merge.

I have narrowed it down to fonts that are described as "encoding = custom" when looking at the Document Properties in Acrobat reader.

e.g. Text that is described as follows fails (all letters display in one character position over the top of other letters on the same line) under 2.50f, the same text displays correctl under 2.50d:
Helvetica
Type 1
Encoding = Custom
Actual Font = ArialMT

On the same document, text that is described as follows displays correctly under 2.50f:
Helvetica
Type 1
Encoding = Standard
Actual Font = Arial-BoldMT

Therefore my question once again is:

Is there a known bug in 2.50f regarding "encoding=custom" fonts and has this been fixed in a later version?

Ross.

Hello,

We have lately changed the way we handle fonts and there was a problem in version 2.50f related to handling embedded Arial and Times New Roman font in some PDF files generated by other driver. I suggest that you try our latest version 2.51 of the PDF Converter, it will help you.
