printing cancelled by another program

Post by Liz H »

I have tried to use the PDF converter with both Peachtree & Quickbooks. With both I get messages that the file could not be converted, that the file could not print to printer/ check your printer selection/ printing may have been cancelled by another program.
I downloaded the demo to rule out anything that may have affected the procedure from Peachtree or Quickbooks. I get the same message using the demo. What would be causing this conflict and how do I get around it I am really frustrated... I am using xp--

Hello,

I am not sure which version of the PDF Converter is used in PeachTree and Quickbooks. Please let us know which version is installed by each product on your system.

The message you are getting is when trying to use the PDF Converter from inside PeachTree or QuickBooks by example or when using it from other Windows applications like Word or Excel?

Finally, when installing the Demo version, what is the exact error you are getting if you try to print from Microsoft Word lets say to the PDF Printer?

in Peachtree it is ver 2.1 Pro, with Quickbooks it is 2.07c Pro

The message about the printing being cancelled/cannot find file is when I am tring to use either Peachtree or Quickbooks.

When I print from Word, the message I get is as follows (using the demo):
Word cannot print due to a problem with thte current printer set up. Try one or more of the following:
check the rpinter by printing a test page from Word
make sure the printer is turned on and online
reinstall the printer driver

Hello,

Concerning Peachtree and Quickbooks please check the following:

- Check that in the printers folder each of these application installs a different printer (the printer name should be different and unique).

- Right click on each printer and choose Properties and check that the driver of the Peachtree printer is 2.1 and the driver of the Quickbooks printer is 2.0 (the drivers' name should be different too).

Concerning the evaluation version you downloaded: If you are getting an error message printing from Word than most probably you have installed the Developer evaluation version, please reinstall the demo you get and check that in the installation wizard 'Developer version' is Unchecked.

Hope this helps.

each application does install its own printer, with its own name entered automatically from the program. I had this problem when I only had Peachtree on my computer so I know the problem is not a result of having both on my computer. The demo I installed is not the developer version... more suggestions? Also, I have no fax software in my computer.... I really want to use this feature...

Hello,

I will try to help you run the demo version.

Right click please on the demo PDF Printer you installed and choose "Preferences". You should see many tabs there (Destination, Advanced, Encryption, ....) If you seeing these tabs than you should be able to open Word or Excel and print a document to that printer whith no problem.

If you are seeing only the "Configuration" tab than please click on the small square at the bottom of the configuration page and get the LicenseTo and Activation Code from the file Install.ini that get created on your system when installing the demo and past them here.

You will find Install.ini in the same folder where the PDF Converter files where deployed, this is by default C:\Pogram Files\Amyuni PDF Converter.

Hope this helps.
