Default Printer Settings in Version 2.50

Post by mlenart »

Hello,

when changing Printer Preferences e.g. Resolution or JPEG-Compression unter "Settings - Printers and Faxes", these settings only work till next logoff. At next logon the options are set to default again.

Where can i set these options for all users?
Do users need to have special rights to change their default settings?

I'm using Amyuni PDF-Converter 2.50 on Windows XP Professional SP2.

Thanx for your reply.

Hello,

By the default the settings are set by Printer and not by User. If you wish to allow each user to set his/her own settings you need to get a 'per user settings' license code.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

thanks for your reply.

How can I set the the settings per Printer. If I make changes as admin and then log off an on again (as admin), the settings are defaulted (e.g. I want to set 600dpi and get 300dpi at next logon).

Hello,

The version of the PDF Converter that you are currently using will write all of the printer information to the same registry key(HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG) and this key is read and written to each the PDF Converter is accessed.

You can modify this functionality by using our “Per User Activation Code”. This code causes the PDF Converter to save the printer settings in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry as opposed to HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG.

If you still have a valid product maintence and technical support plan please contact us (support@amyuni.com) and we'll send you updated "License to" and "Activation code" values.

Hope this helps?

Amyuni support team sent me a new registration-code, now the user can change his settings.

Thanks!
