Installation Errors
Installation Errors
We are using a Document Imaging System from Metafile that allows us to e-mail documents in a PDF format. They are using the Amyuni product to convert the document to PDF.
We are having difficulties installing the printer/print drivers on several PC. The following is from the install.log file. Any help in resolving would be appreciated.
The PC O/S is XP Pro. The user is a local administrator. Plus we have attempted the install logged in as a domain administrator and receive the same errors.
All the DLL files are version 0.2.0.2105. The ACFPDF.DRV is version 2.1.0.5
Thanks
Ben Marthin

The user is a local administrator on the PC however I logged in as an administrator and received the same errors.
You’re correct that there is a CDIntf210.DLL file in the system directory but it is NOT marked as read only. I have deleted the file, but each time I run the install, the file is put back in the directory.
Any further suggestions?
Thanks

Hello Ben,
The situation you're encountering is definitely related to a permissions issue. I suggest that you verify the follow issues while logged into the system as a user with administrator privileges.
Try to copy a file to or rename an existing file in both of the directories below:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\2
These are the directories the PDF Converter installation process is trying to copy the acfpdfu.dll and acfpdfui.dll files to.
Also, make sure that you're installing from a local directory and none of the installation files are read only.
Hope this helps?

Hello Amyuni Support,
Thanks for the assistance to date. Here is some additional information.
The PC in question does not have the paths:
c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86 and
c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\2
but is does have:
c:\winnt\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86
c:\winnt\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\2
The user does have full rights to these directories as I created a document, modified the document, renamed the document and deleted the document.
I did find several Amyuni files in the c:\winnt\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86 directory, they are:
acpdf157.dll
acpdfui208.dll
pdfui157.dll
acpdf208.dll
acpdfui210.dll
pdfui208.dll
acfpdf.txt
acpdf210.dll
I did not reconize any of the files in the c:\winnt\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\2 directory as Amyuni files.
What should we try next?

Hello,
Hopefully this is what you requested:
Printer #1 is named "customer service 4" it uses a HP Laser Jet 1200 series PCL 6 driver
Printer #2 is named "customer service 3" it uses a HP Laser 4 M plus driver
Printer #3 is named "FastFaxLAN" it uses a Black Ice TIFF Capture Driver Version 8.61 for NT/2000/XP based systems and it is Licensed to Quadrant.
Printer #4 is named "P1Kyo6330" it uses a Kyocera Mita KM-6330KX driver. This is a copier machine on the network.
Printer #5 is named "customer service" it uses a HP Laser Jet 4 driver
Printer #6 is named "FastFax File Image" it uses the same driver as printer # 3
Printer #7 is named "Microsoft Office Document Image Writer" it uses a Microsoft Office Document Image Writer driver
I went thru the process of setting up a new printer and did see a part called File
Yesterday I renamed all the Amyuni dll files in the c:\winnt\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86 directory and tried the installation process again. This time I only received these errors so it looks like some progress has been made.

But the user is a local administrator plus I have logged in as the administrator and continue to receive the same error.
I see in other forum postings there is an .INF file available to add the printer manually using the add printer wizard. Can I try adding this printer using the .INF file? Where can I get the .INF file?

Attempted to install using the INF file and still receive the error that access in denied.
I failed to mention earlier that the user is able to install a new HP printer without any errors so I do not think it is a permissions issue.
I have found some Amyuni files in the c:\winnt\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86 directory. When I attempt to delete them, windows gives an error that the files are in use and can't be deleted. Why is that?
Any other things to try?

Hello,
I would suggest that you try to unistall any Amyuni PDF Printer from your system, and remove all the files and dlls of the PDF Converter than do a clean install it.
To do this you can:
- Install the PDF Printer from your system running Install -u "Printer Name" from the command prompt
- delete the following files from your system
acpdf*.*
cdintf*.*
- Reboot your system
- Install the new version of the PDF Converter.
Hope this helps.
