Truetype fonts and bold in MS Word.

Post by kenyon »

Is there a setup that will allow fonts that are not Truetype to print to the PDF converter when they have been made BOLD using MS Word? I am using Lucida Caligraphy, but notice the same for other fonts that are not Truetype. I have tried setting up the print driver with and without embedded fonts. FYI - Lucida Caligraphy was converted to a completely different font type until I enabeld multi-language support.

thanks,

Is Lucida Caligraphy a licensed font? If it is, than you need to set "Embed Licensed Fonts" option.

If not you can choose between partial embedding or full embedding.

If the characters are Unicode than you need to enable Multilanguage.

Hope this helps.

I am using multi-language and font embedding.

Thanks -- I've tried those, but I get the same results. The text comes through, but it is not bold. It is in the list of fonts on my system (Windows XP). The control panel for fonts lists it as an OpenType Font, Digitally signed, TrueType Outlines with a copyright of 1991 from Bigelow & Holmes. I could send you the word and pdf files to look at if you'd like. FYI -- I am using PDF Converter Pro Version 2.10i-3.

thanks,
