Populating Form Fields Created in Acrobat 6.0

I have created a PDF doc in Acrobat 6.0 that includes several form fields. My application needs to populate these fields programmatically and create a new file with the populated data. I've been evaluating PDF Creator, hoping that it would solve my problem. So far I have been able to use the objects in the PDF Creator library to load the PDF and view misc properties. However, I can't view or edit form fields created in Acrobat 6.0. Is this expected behavior? Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
