Conflict with Adobe Acrobat?

Post by ssicomp »

I've installed the PDF Converter 2.10 demo on a Win 2000 TS Citrix Metaframe server which also has Adobe Acrobat 6 installed. From their virtual desktop, the users often open word doc and print to the Acrobat Printer. However, after installing the PDF Converter, the print to Adobe no longer works. The message simply says there was a problem printing the document to the named port. It appears as though when the Acrobat printer is selected from the Print menu, it has the problem but if the document is saved first then printed using the Acrobat button in word, it will print ok. Many times the users are not saving the docs and its just too much trouble for them to save first. The two work together ok on an XP desktop, testing now on Win 2000.

Does anyone have any insight to this conflict?

Thanks.

Hello,

The PDF Converter product does not use any dlls which are shared with Adobe Distiller or Reader and is not dependant on these applications being installed on a users system. I suspect that your issue maybe related to another situation.

Hope this helps?

Thanks, I've been looking at the Adobe site and it seems to be an issue with Adobe and TS/Citrix. Looks like its a problem getting acrotray.exe to run. Thanks for the response.
