Problem installing PDF Converter

We install the PDF converter version 2.10h with our product. We just shipped and have received a couple of calls where the converter will not install. The log file is below. This seems to be happening when there a PDF converter from another product already istalled.

Windows 2000/XP Install

Hello,

How your users are installing the PDF Converter?

If they are running Install.exe please check that Install.exe is being run from a folder containing all the needed files and dlls.

For more infomration on the files you need to ship with your product please check page 5 of our Developers' documentation "Common Driver Interface 210.pdf"

Yes, it's being installed using "install.exe" from our product CD. All the files are there:

acfpdf.dll
acfpdf.drv
acfpdf.txt
acfpdfu.dll
acfpdfui.dll
cdintf.dll

Do you see any files that I'm missing?

By the way, this only seems to happen when there's another version of the PDF converter already installed on the user's system. Amyuni PDF Converter 2.06b seems to be the version we're having issues with.

Hello,

Version 2.0x and 2.1x can be installed together on the same PC without causing any conflicts.

Please copy the files from your product CD to a new folder on the system, check that none of these files is marked as Read-Only, than run Install.exe from this new folder.

Thanks, but I have tried that and it still will not install until we uninstall the other version of the converter. Is there any way to get more detailed information about what file the installer thinks it's missing? The log file generated by install.exe isn't very detailed. Anything else you can suggest would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

In general the name of the specified file is mentioned. If the name is not mentioned you may try to delete any old version of CDintf or CDIntf210 from the system directory before installing the driver.
