Open Document Failed in PDFCreactiveDoc

Post by jimhowe »

I am having problems using the sample application (PDFCreactiveDoc.Exe) to open PDF files that were included with your programs. Same problem exists when trying to open using the ActiveX interface from VB. The files "Common Driver Interface 210.pdf" and "Amyuni PDF Converter.pdf" give me an error "Open Document Failed" when trying to open these PDF files. However, it is able to open them in Acrobat Reader 6.0.

I was able to open "Amyuni PDF Creator.pdf" and the "License.pdf" that came with creator.

Hello,

Most probably you are using an old version of the PDF Creator on your system.

Please download the latest version from our site. Also please note that you need to unregister any old version available specially if you were using version 1.0x of the PDF Creator and you are trying to install version 1.5.
You can unregister the older version by using Regsvr32 -u

Hope this helps.

Open Document Failed in PDFCreactiveDoc

Post by jimhowe »

I am currently running version 1.09 of PDF Creator. We purchased the developer version of this in 04/2003. When I go to your download page, it states that the current version of PDF creator is 1.09e. Your reply states that you now have a version 1.5? Where do I get this version on your website if it is not listed in the downloads area?

I ran "regsvr32 -u" on the three DLL's in the old version. I then downloaded the version 1.09e from your website and ran the unpack. However, I am still having a problem opening the "Common Driver Interface 210.pdf" (which I think came with the PDF Converter) using PDFCreactiveDoc.exe. It gave me a "Open Document Failed" message and then displayed a blank page. This document opens fine using Acrobat 6.0. When I look at the properties of the PDF file using Acrobat, it says the file is PDF version 1.3 (Acrobat 4.x).

Hi,

Please download the demo version of the PDF Creator from our site. This is the latest release.

To install it you need first to run Regsvr32 -u to unregister dlls of version 1.0x.

Please try to open the file with the latest version, if it worked (it should work).

Have a nice day !

Downloaded Current version and still won't open

Post by jimhowe »

I uninstalled as you suggested and regserver set it succeeded. I then downloaded the current version of PDF creator from your website and installed into a different directory. I then ran the PDFCreactiveDoc program and tried to open the "common driver interface 210.pdf" file provided with the PDF Converter (not creator), and I still get the message "Open Document Failed", then a mostly blank screen comes up and it says "PDF Creator Evaluation Version 1.09e" in red letters diagonally across the page. Thus, it still looks like your download from your website is downloaded version 1.09e, not a later version. Where can I get the latest version? If this is the latest version, can I send you the PDF file that I'm having problems with?
