using a bitmap as a background or watermark

Is there any way that a bitmap (such as a logo) can be used as a background to other objects such as text? I tried the picture object and also the merge function. Both do not work as they overlay the objects that are within the dimensions of the bitmap.

Did you try to create a picture object and then to create a text object over this picture?

This should work and can easily be done using the End User version of the PDF Creator.
