Which Version do I need?

Post by JeffreyHunt »

Hello,
We create hundreds of PDFs for several clients each year. These PDFs are created via custom Foxpro programs running on our WebServer. These programs are not distributed to our clients, they are simply a tool for us to use to create these PDFs. Since we are not developing software for sale I'm thinking we would not need the Developer version, thus it would be one of the Server versions.

Server Versions: 1) Converter Application Server or 2) Converter Terminal Server. I'm thinking the Terminal Server as we have one Service account, "User", which is used by Scheduled Tasks to run various programs to create the PDFs.

Thank you,
Jeffrey Hunt

From what you are describing using VFP you would need a Developers/Application license. http://amyuni.com/en/developer/pdfconverter/

We do offer a demo version of that product [http://amyuni.com/en/developer/pdfconverter/download/] to test within your environment. The evaluation is a fully functional, unlimited version. A message is printed on each page stating that the document has been generated with an evaluation version.

We also have technical notes that can be found here: http://amyuni.com/en/resources/technicalnotes/tn03a.zip
This note provides Microsoft VFP developers with technical information to integrate the PDF Converter and Document converter modules inside their applications. This note contains a VFP sample that uses the FLL and ActiveX interfaces of the PDF Converter to convert documents to PDF and post process the generated PDF files.

Hope this helps!
