Problem with CID (Identity-H) fonts

Post by graham48 »

I can't open any PDFs that are created using Identity-H encoding for the embedded fonts - the PDF opens but all text is missing.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Graham.

Hello,

Please send us a sample file to Support@amyuni.com to check if it will open with our latest release.

Regards.

We found that although the PDF doesn't display anything in Adobe Acrobat, you can select the text and when you paste it into something like Notepad it is visible. If you open the PDF in Foxit Reader then you see garbage characters.

What fixed it was setting the EmbedFonts bit in SetDocFileProps(). Once fonts were being embedded in the PDF the text showed up in Acrobat as expected.

Hello,

Font Embedding is needed if you want to display the PDF on a system that doesn't have the fonts used in the PDF installed.
