PDFs from Converter and the Web.

Post by jevason »

We are having an issue with PDF's that we send across the web. The PDF's are built from a VB COM component rendering in data supplied by the user. The PDF is written to a temp file on disk then the users browser is redireced to that PDF file. It works fine on low-res (75) DPI but in random instances images do not appear.

The images are in the PDF file on the servers disk - we can open them and see.

The images are in the PDF file in the users browser as seen when you save the file to their disk and open it in the pdf viewer outside the browser.

Has anyone got a solution to this problem ?

We are using PDF Converter v2.05.

James.

Oh - it appears that my prayers have been answered in a new version....

I have two questions:

1. Why is there no list of known bugs (which this obviously was  ) ?
2. Why did no one from Amyuni bother to respond to my post ? :x

Hello James,

Sorry for not replying to your post earlier, for one reason or another we couldn't **see** your post.

I check the forum regularly and It is the first time I see your post :o :!: :!: :!: :!:

You can now download version 2.08 from our site www.amyuni.com

I am not sure what you meant by:
1. Why is there no list of known bugs (which this obviously was )
In fact the Versions.txt file that is available with each new version contains the bug fixes and new features in all the versions till the released one.

Hope this helps :)

What I meant was that when your support team has recognised an issue
this information should be posted on the web site as a known bug.

Then we (users) can understand this issue and the likely impact on our users and customers.

Only through an open approach such as that will you build loyalty in the developer community.
