Citrix with 1.58 converter

Post by stuberry »

We have been using the PDF Converter for 2 years in a large client/ server PowerBuilder application with great results. Now we are trying to run on Citrix. Can't find any detail information about printing to a file. Our Citrix knowledge is several years old.

1. Must the client have PDF Converter installed? With this done, we receive either a 105 - setting default filename error or the local printer gets a printer error. The client printer gets auto created on the server.

2. If we don't install PDF Converter on the client, the application bombs when it tries to access the printer handle.

We sucessfully use static data cache's, pointing to the server as 'c:\application\cache\user id\data files'.

Trying to use the same naming convention for pdf files.

3. Must data files we create be under the 'document and settings\user' folder structure?

Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

Hello,

Under Citrix, it is advisable to install the PDF Printer on the server and use it from the client machines.

Also please download an update to version 1.59 of the PDF Converter from our Updates page.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Joan. The updated version 1.59b did allow the setfilename to work properly. We also weren't aware that getting an update worked so well.
