unexpected "The file being printed is already in PDF format"

Post by AccountView »

Hi,

While printing from our application in the background, we get the
The file being printed is already in PDF format. The print conversion will stop.
error from the Amyuni PDF converter when we open a PDF in Acrobat Reader from windows explorer.

We're not printing from acrobat, just opening a PDF.
The PDF converter is in use by our application and licensed; the messagebox halts our printjob.

We're using version 4.0.0.7, but also reproduced the effect in 4.5.0.3

Any idea on how to solve that?

Regards,

This sounds like an issue when printing under 64-bit OS. Under 64-bit systems, the printer driver does not have access to the printing application when the application is a 32-bit application, it can only have access to the application that currently has the focus. If you are printing in the background and the focus is on Acrobat, the printer will think that Acrobat is printing and display this error message.

You can disable the error message by setting the PrintDisabled key to an empty string:
PrinterParamStr("PrintDisabled") = ""
