Setwatermark on a 64bits OS

Post by hbarretto »

We're using the setwatermark on our app since version 2.50 without any problem.
After some clients starting to use 64x Windows 2003 the watermark doesnt appear. The same app at 32 Windows 2003 is ok, the watermark appear.
This happen with Converter 3.03, 3.03e and 4.0.
Any help ?

Thanks

After talk to Amyuni support ... the big surprise

========================================================================================================
Hello,

I discussed your issue in greater detail with our development team and they were actually aware of this issue.

The SetWatermark() function does not work for 32-bit applications running under 64-bit OS. This is because the 64-bit printer driver runs under a different process (splwow64.exe) than the 32-bit application. The only workaround we currently have is to create another PDF and use it as a Watermark.

Other options are being analyzed but will not be available in the short term.

Hope this helps?

So we'll have to change our app that is ok for more than 8 years because we have an Amyuni certified product that doesnt work with 64 bits OS.

I hope that more people read this and save the time trying to find a problem that is from the supplier.

Hello,

The issue is being caused by changes made in the printing architecture in windows between 32bit and 64bit versions of windows and not our product.

Our product, like many other products, encountered issues because of these changes in the architecture.

Also, our printer driver is certified by Microsoft and functions correctly on all versions of windows (32bit and 64bit).

We are currently working in implementing a solution but this solution is very complex and will take some time to implement.

Thanks
