Is it compatible with Windows seven

Post by marcr » Thu May 07 2009

Is the version 3.0.3 is compatible with Windows Seven?

if not, is it possible to make it compatible? Is there any replacement files?

and finally, what version should I use in the case that it is impossible?

Thank you

Hello,

I know that version 4 is compatible with Windows 7. I have just read it on this site. But, Is it possible to have an answer for the 3.03 version please? Are there people on this forum who have tested with version 3.03 on Windows 7?

Thank you
Marc R.

When I attempt to install on windows 7 RC1 I get an error saying arguments invalid. Which is strange because it worked on windows 7 beta.

We are currently testing our products with the Release Candidate of Windows 7, 32 and 64-bit platforms. We will post a message on our forum www.amyuni.com/forum with the results of our tests by the end of the week.

Well no, version 3.03 is not compatible with Windows 7 RC :( . Here is the result of the file install.txt

Windows 95/98/Me Install
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Checking for existing PDF printer
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Copying acfpdf.drv file
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Copying cdintf.dll file
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Copying xmllite.dff file
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing Amyuni PDF printer driver
Error Code: 87
The parameter is incorrect.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing Amyuni PDF printer
Error Code: 1797
The printer driver is unknown.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Printer setup failed
Error Code: 1797
The printer driver is unknown.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How is it that the program attempts to install the printer for Windows 95/98/Me ???? What can I do ? The strangest thing is that our installation program installs the current version with the previous version of our application with their own version of the PDF Document Converter. Our previous application uses the version 2.51 and it works perfectly with Windows 7 but not 3.03!
What do I have to do to make version 3.03 to work with Windows 7?
Thank you
Marc R.

Hello,

The failed log files indicate that you are not using the right version of the installer:
From the log file: "Windows 95/98/Me Install"

This issue was fixed a couple of months ago and an updated installer placed online. Have you downloaded the most recent version?

Thanks

Where is this post with the results?

3.03 installs correctly with the official release versions of both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows Seven
