I have a VB6 app that opens a Word doc, and converts it to a PDF using the Amyuni PDF converter. The app has worked for years on my original development machine, as well as many customer machines. I've moved all development to another machine (see below). Now when the VB6 app prints a landscape Word doc, a popup appears with "The margins of section 1 are set outside the printable area of the page." If I continue at this point, the PDF generated is portrait with the left side of the page clipped.
I can correctly print the original landscaped Word doc using Word.
I'd appreciate any ideas on what to try. The machine configuration is as follows:
Windows Vista 64 host OS (Amyuni is NOT installed anywhere on the host OS)
Physical printer installed on a host USB port
VMWare Workstation 6.5.1
Windows XP Pro 32 SP3 virtual machine
Host printer appears as networked printer
Word 2003 - SP3
Amyuni PDF Converter printer - version 3.0.2.0
VB6 app
Thanks - Jack
Unable to convert landscape Word docs
Re: Unable to convert landscape Word docs
Please check the page settings and margins settings of the Word document on the new machine.
Please match the printer settings with the document settings.

Re: Unable to convert landscape Word docs
On the new machine I can open documents with Word, and print them to an actual printer, without changing any of the page / margin settings for the documents.
I'm not sure what you mean by "match the printer settings". Do you mean to programmatically change the Amyuni PDF printer settings to match the document settings? If so, why wouldn't this have ever been a requirement in the past?
If I wasn't clear, I'm using the developer version of the Amyuni Document Converter. Does this make a difference?
Thanks

Re: Unable to convert landscape Word docs
You mentioned that your application was working properly on your original machine and on your customers machine, and you are getting the pop up only on the new machine.
Please let me know the following:
1 - were you trying to print the same landscape document from your original machine?
2 - The new machine has the same version of Word installed as your original machine?
3 - The document you are trying to print is set to landscape or is it a portrait document with the width larger than the length?
Thanks
Joanna

1. Yes, same file copied between machines.
2. Yes, Word 2003 SP3.
3. Document is set to landscape.
Thanks
