Windows 7 Beta

Just an F.Y.I. that installing the PDF driver gets an odd error with Windows 7 (beta) even thought I think it would otherwise work.

When I run install.exe with my license key, the installer improperly detects the windows version and attempts to install the win 95/98/ME version of the driver instead of the xp/vista/2000 version, so it fails. I think if it attempted to install the 32-bit driver by default it would probably work.

I realize that we're a bit away from the Windows 7 release, but always get on board early to check out the compatability of our own code in addtion to that of our supporting technologies like the PDF Converter. Please keep everybody updated on when you will have a version for us to try in Windows 7.

Which version of the PDF Converter are you using?

Did you try installing the PDF Converter using Setup.exe instead of Install.exe?

I currently have 3.02 bundled with our installation (which calls install), but will give the setup.exe a try over the weekend and will report back.

We have uploaded an updated version of the PDF Converter which now can be successfully installed and used with the current beta of windows 7.

If you are evaluating the product please just re-download the evaluation version again. If you are a licensed user you can download it from the link below:

Since the resolution to this issue ended up being a change to the installation only, the DLLs were not modified and we left their version number as version 3.0.3.
