What are the features you are missing in the PDF Creator and / or the PDF Converter?

What are the features you think should exist (or just wish to have) in the PDF Creator and / or PDF Converter but they are not there.

In your answers / comments please specify if you are using the End User or Developer version of our tools.

I have used PDFCreativeX.dll to populate the pdf files with data.
I am working in Web Application in which the pdf is produced and stored on server and presented to client for user to print. I know about print() method of PDFCreativeX.dll

Unfortunately, There is no way to print pdf directly to default printer on client machine instead of presenting the the pdf to user.

I hope, you will try to add this functionality in coming versions.

Hi,

I have used PDFCreator to write multiple pdfs and combine them to make one pdf file.
All pdfs that I used, had same javscript which I added in the pdfs using Acrobat Professional 8.0.

This is the javscript that I used for silent printing in all pdf files
this.print({bUI: false, bSilent: true, bShrinkToFit: true});

After the processing was done, the combined pdf file didn't contain the acrobat javascript.

Unfortunately, Javascript is not preserved in PDF after processing is done.
More over there in no functionality in PDFCreator with which we can add, edit, delete javascripts in PDF.
I have come across some free tools which provide these functionalities.

Hope you will consider adding these functionalities in future versions

Hello Ashuman,

Thank you for posting the features you are missing in our toolds here.

Preserving Java scripts in PDF files after modifying them is something we are planning to do.

Printing the PDF files to the default printer in the client machine in a Client-Server environment is something I will discuss with our project manager.

For all forum users: I am waiting for all your comments on what are the features you are missing in our tools.

Thanks,

Joanna

A "standard" installer

We use the PDF Converter printer drivers.
It would be really good if you could distribute your drivers as Microsoft Installer packages (MSI) and/or as Merge Modules, to ease integration in a standard deploy framework!

Thank you for your comment Lp

We are currently checking the option of distributing our driver as MSI installer. I will forward your comment to our project manager.

Have a nice day,

Joanna

Thank you Joanna for your care :)
It would be really useful to have something you can install and uninstall in a standard and clean way!

Hello LP,

For the time being, if you need to get the package as MSI, please feel free to contact support@amyuni.com.

Thank you Joanna,
I tried writing to the support but then discovered we have a standard maintenance plan, so no way :)
Well.. I'll wait until it is available to the public
What really matters is that you are working on it, hope you'll have it working soon 8)
Have a nice day!

Developer version: Stability! when doing anything more than a couple of functions to a small pdf the crashes come thick and fast, nearly all seem to be down to memory use spiraling out of control.

It's nice having something fast but when you have to spend an extra week writing huge amounts of code to close and reopen files for every step of a process you soon learn to despise the tools.

For a supposedly professional set of libraries that we spent well over a thousand pounds to use it's a disgrace for them to be so unstable.

There is almost zero chance of us paying for newer versions with the state of what we've got, may as well spend that time bringing the code of haru or itext up to speed and save a grand.

June 2013 marked the release of version 5.0 of our toolkits with a number of new features and enhancements. Unfortunately the major release came with some stability issues, since then we had 4 new releases 5.0.0.3, 5.0.0.5, 5.0.0.7 and very recently 5.0.0.9. We hope that "kensands" has a different view of our toolkit now. We are always open to criticism and work hard to act upon it.
