Re: PDF Converter 4.0.0.9 stopped working on Windows 7 64-bit

Thanks for your input. This problem occurred when the PDF Converter hung while printing a report, causing information to be left in registry nodes. An attempted uninstall of the program did not execute cleanly. Even though reinstalls appeared to be successful, the PDF Converter did not function prop...

PDF Converter 4.0.0.9 stopped working on Windows 7 64-bit

I am a Visual FoxPro developer and have 2 applications that use Amyuni PDF Converter 4.0.0.9. Both apps install the printer with application-specific names. I am working on a major upgrade to one of these systems and am suddenly unable to test print functionality on my own system, a 64-bit machine r...

Re: Does PDF Converter 400 work with Word 2010?

Thanks for your response. Actually, I can't use ActivePrinter in this instance because that command changes the Windows Default printer. I am using the print setup dialog to change the printer on-the-fly. However, I finally figured out that there has been a significant change in Office 2010. Previou...

Re: Does PDF Converter 400 work with Word 2010?

Yes, this environment is definitely 32-bit. I can actually answer the question now--after 8 days of research and testing. The two programs are definitely compatible but there is one significant change when automating Word 2010 documents with VBA. It may be more detail than you need here, but the sho...

Does PDF Converter 400 work with Word 2010?

I have VBA code running in a VFP9 application that works perfectly with Word 2007 but brought a whole company to its knees the instant they converted to Office 2010. It fails when trying to set the printer driver. I don't know if the Pdf Converter is the problem or not and it's nearly impossible to ...

Send PDF to print w/o changing Windows default printer?

Is there any way to direct Word to send a document to the PDF Converter without changing the Windows defult printer setting? I'm using the Word dialog (wdDialogFilePrintSetup=97) to send output to an app-specific physical device while leaving the Windows default setting unchanged and it works well. ...

Experience with 2X Application Server?

I have an application that uses the latest version of Amyuni PDF Converter within a Visual FoxPro Application. I am familiar with the use of the PDF Converter on Terminal Services. Does anyone have experience with the PDF Converter running on the 2X Application Server product?

Re: Error code 41 on EnablePrinter command.

Thanks for your post. In our case, the problem was isolated to the workstations running Windows 7. It was solved by upgrading those to the latest version of the PDF Converter. The XP machines are still running a slightly older version without problems...

Error code 41 on EnablePrinter command.

Version 4.0.0.7 of the PDF Converter is installed along with my application using '-s' and the name of the printer used by the application--but not the licensee and code information. That is passed during the EnablePrinter() command. This process works perfectly for the 25+ Windows XP workstations. ...

2 Converters running on Terminal Server?

I believe we are running into problems with two instances of the PDF converter in use on Terminal Server at the same time. It seems like the one destined for use by the custom Visual FoxPro Application is being hijacked occasionally by QuickBooks. Users of the custom app may be in the middle of a mu...

Re: Win2k3-Server crashes after PDF-conversion

The issues reported on this forum and elsewhere related to crashes of Amyuni 2.x products on Windows 2003 servers appear to have started early in 2009 and apply to applications that had been in use for quite a while (obviously 2.06 is not a new product.) The logical assumption by all of us is that t...

Re: Win2k3-Server crashes after PDF-conversion

I would appreciate information as to why this error has suddenly surfaced on Windows 2003 servers and whether there is a solution to the problem. In our instance, the error appears to have begun on or around March 1, 2009. Upgrading to your latest version is not a feasible solution for us at this ti...

Just to clarify, the problem isn't with the VFP reports, it is with the Word automation documents produced by VFP. The command oWord.ActivePrinter = PDF_Converter_Name directs output to the converter and a similar command restores the previous printer setting when the job is complete. After much exp...

Installing the Converter permanently on the workstation did resolve many issues. Printing from Word through OLE automation works perfectly, even if the switching of printers is still slow. However, printing reports from VFP doesn't work at all now. The "Set Printer to Name" command generates this me...

Thanks. That did help to reduce the time for the printjob from 45 seconds to 23 seconds. It still seems to take about 10 seconds to switch to the PDF printer and another 10 to switch back. Speed may become irrelevant though since the process doesn't work at the client site! The PDF DriverInit() call...
