Use the options from the PDF Options tab to set options of Headers and Footers, Font embedding and other particular settings.
Click the PDF Options tab.
Select the following options:
Option |
Function |
---|---|
Font Embedding |
To include all TrueType® and Type1 (Postscript) fonts from the source document into the output PDF file. This creates a larger file but ensures consistent document display across different platforms. To Use: Select or clear the Font embedding check box or its sub-check boxes to turn these options ON or OFF. Additional font embedding options include: • Partial font embedding: To set the PDF Converter to embed only portions of the font file that are used by the source document. • Embed standard fonts: To set the PDF Converter to embed Arial and Times New Roman fonts. These fonts are not embedded by default as they are provided with Acrobat® reader. • Embed licensed fonts: To set the PDF Converter to embed fonts that require a license from their manufacturer. |
Output PDF 2.0 |
To generate the document in the PDF 2.0 specification. To Use: Select or clear the Output PDF 2.0 check box to turn this option ON or OFF. |
Page Content Compression |
To compress a document with the zlib/deflate compression algorithm. Disable this option for debugging purposes or for applications that analyze the generated PDF file in clear text. To Use: Select or clear the Page Content Compression check box to turn this option ON or OFF. |
Web optimization (Linearization) |
To view a PDF file from a Web browser, server, or remote location. This option enables the reader to view the PDF page-by-page without having to download the entire document. To Use: Select or clear the Web optimization (Linearization) check box to turn this option ON or OFF. |
Multi-language support |
To convert non-Western-European and U.S. character sets (e.g., Eastern- European and Far-Eastern characters). This conversion is less efficient and files tend to be larger. Font embedding is recommended for PDF viewers to correctly display all fonts. To Use: Select or clear the Multi-language support check box to turn this option ON or OFF. |
Output XMP metadata |
To generate an XML representation of the metadata that describes the document. The metadata is formatted according to the Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) specifications. To Use: Select or clear the Output XMP metadata check box to turn this option ON or OFF. |
Output PDF/A |
To generate the document in PDF/A format. Based on the PDF 1.4 specifications, PDF/A places a certain number of constraints on PDF files to ensure that they remain readable with future versions of operating systems and PDF viewers. To Use: Select or clear the Output PDF/A check box to turn this option ON or OFF. |
